review 1: As I read The Great Paper Caper I thought it was clever that on almost every page while the other creatures are investigating you see the bear in the background cutting down branches and trees, carrying stacks of paper, and making paper airplanes. Also, in the illustrations all the extra insight into each creature's life can lead to bigger discussions in the classroom. The first page alone shows the pig doing laundry, the deer exercising, the goose knitting, the beaver working on the computer, and the child taking a bath. This book also shows light on how an investigative works like speaking to witnesses, examining the crime scene, questioning a suspect and even having a trail. I fully enjoyed this book and it ends up having a happy ending.
review 2: This ecoth
... moreriller follows a group of concerned forest animals who begin noticing that branches are steadily disappearing from trees. The disappearance can't be an accident since there are too many of them being taken. After searching fruitlessly for clues, they eventually find a paper airplane that leads them to the culprit. As is typical in these sorts of stories, things work out for everyone in the end in an especially stylish way. I like the endpaper with their directions for paper airplanes and the very last illustration that shows a bear watering a sapling. I'm not sure how I feel about the stick figure legs all the animals have been given, but I liked the book's message about sustainability and recycling what we use. less

Mostly weird. Odd ending. Odd premise. Odd lower limbs... You get the idea.

Funny little stick legs. I like the flower-eating boy better.
