review 1: Yvette has been obsessed with gargoyles and spend time drawing them as much as possible. After a few days of drawing one particular gargoyle Yvette notices that he seems to have moved. Letting that go she goes home, at night she is awakened by a storm and remembers dreams that seem more real than dream. The next night as the storms continue her balcony door is opened and she finds she's not alone. Her gargoyle has come for her after she awakened him and he won't take no for an answer. But Yvette wants this as much as him, till the dawn when Alexander must leave. Alexander is shocked that Yvette cares for him and tells her it may not be the end. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book, but I ended up really liking it. The writing is very good and though it's a short ... morestory I never felt like I was missing anything important. The ending was great, I had no clue how this book would end after reading some reviews but I loved the ending. I would have been really happy with an epilogue, I would have been ecstatic if this was a full length book, just so I could have gotten more. I really liked Alexander and would have loved to have gotten more from him. With that being said this is still a great novella that I would recommend to anyone who wanted a quick hot read.
review 2: **Read for the 2013 Secret Santa ChallengeWow, this story is not what I was expecting. Well, I did expect it to have gargoyles and sex, so there is that, but I did expect this to be as well written as it was. I usually expect something more along the lines of a Penthouse letter, mixed with poor editing, no plot, and a dictionary worth of synonyms for human (and Monster) genitalia. Instead, I got a slight bit of romantic lit mixed in with the monster banging, adding a little art into the erotica. So this was a pleasant read, and actually could have been expanded into a longer a romance novel, rather than this short story. I admit, the ending was a little cheesy for me, but that could be because I wanted it to end a little differently. But it was still a nice story overall, and pretty steamy. less
