review 1: A good "junk food" book and beach read but I really wanted some substance. I couldn't get into the characters since I felt like they were so under developed and had too many mommy and food issues. I really wanted to enjoy it but I found myself struggling near the end. What bothered me the most is that these girls were mainly miserable over guys (mentally abusive boyfriend/lack of boyfriends). It would have been nice to have their issues resolved beyond getting engaged, married, etc. Bummer.
review 2: About four college suit mates with completely different backgrounds and personalities, thrown together by fate. The story is about their relationships and struggles (with mothers, each other and food) and finding their true self. My favorite quote, "...though we
... morewalked different paths, we were more similar than we had thought: each one of us...had been fighting her own bit of darkness. Each trudging, climbing toward what the best part of herself believed she could be. Toward the self that could soar." less

I liked it, but I wanted everything tied up nicer at the end. Really got into the characters.
