review 1: I thought this book was very interesting, and I find the author's dedication for truth refreshing and inspiring. It was a little disappointing that none of the alleged criminals were convicted at the end - real life investigations are a lot more complicated than described in mystery novels where the murderer is always caught and the appropriate consequence inflicted. The author explained her reasoning throughout the process and proved herself to be detail-oriented and logical.

The young man who lived with them was odd and awkward but it wasn't until a young girl was savagely murdered not far from their home that Pat saw... more the red flags. They eventually asked to move out, but not before Pat found evidence in his room that he might be the murderer. She took her concerns and the evidence to the local police, who did nothing with it. These events led Pat to learning as much as she could about criminal behavior. She became a profiler and has been involved with many other cases around the country, trying to help families find, arrest and convict those who killed a loved one. Compelling read. less
