review 1: A book like lemon drops - at first they're fun, they prickle on the tongue, but after a while, if you eat too many in one sitting, you don't feel them prickle anymore. The author has loaded each and every sentence with triple esprit. Read in small dosages, it can be fun, and there is some seriousness about the nature of relationships and couples behind all the jokes. But all in all, I feel this book would have been better off as a weekly newspaper column. As a novel, it's compressed humor becomes too tiresome to enjoy.
review 2: I rarely dislike a book this much. The author was trying really hard to be quirky, which came off as annoying. Half the book is empty - literally, there's a lot of blank space on these pages - and what IS there is organized into "chaple
... morettes" (also annoying). The author often references herself, much to the readers (surprise, surprise) annoyance. The only good thing I can say about the book is...nope, there's nothing. less
