review 1: First off, I have a bit of a fundamental problem with a biography about someone who is still so young and doing so much awesome shit, but this was recommended to me, and I am a Dave Grohl fan, so here I am.This started out a little slow for me, and for the first 1/3 or so, was a lot more about the "times" than about the "life" of a teenage Dave Grohl coming up in the DC punk scene in the 1980s. Once the story reached the Nirvana years, though, the book took off as fast as Nirvana's career did. The last 2/3 of the book was great. Grohl is a really private individual, so it certainly wasn't any kind of deep insight into his soul or anything, but there was a lot of interesting history and insight that I'm glad to have read. I'd recommend it to fans, with the caveat that G... morerohl is still too young for a proper biography.
review 2: Interesting read.... I would have preferred something a little more neutral as it's pretty clear the author is a huge Grohl fanboy. As such he tends to let Dave off the hook at times when his actions were less than honorable, particularly as it concerns the Foo Fighters. One thing that does come through loud and clear is how much Dave loves music. A solid 3 stars from this casual fan of Grohl's work. less
