review 1: 3.5 STARSWhen a little boy finds a hat on a park bench, his imagination soars as he thinks of all the uses he might have for it in various adventures. But his mother reminds him that other people might have use for the hat, too. The illustrations are so cute--I wasn't expecting much based on the cover, but the inside illustrations are wonderful, full of humor and an old-fashioned charm (like some of the original I Can Read books from the 60s). I like the imagination shown here, and also the idea of sharing, but somehow the story didn't completely win me over.
review 2: When Henry finds a big, red hat on a park bench, he dreams of all the things he could do and places he could go with it. He wants to take the hat home. His Mom asks him to think about all the
... more things someone else could do who needed the hat and Henry thinks it over. In the end, Henry makes his decision. This is a simple story with two color illustrations by Paul Hoppe, published by Bloomsbury children's Books. less

I like the chaiasmic (Okay, I don't know how to spell that word) form used in this story.

I loved this book - the two color illustrations, the size, the concept and the ending.
