review 1: This 'there and back' adventure is the first of a series of books about a world where people are breed as food for the ruling Zombies. I like the premise, and the world is almost believable, but it was very linear in structure and though there is lots of killing and characters dying I never felt attached to anyone of them so I didn't care what happens to them. My main problem with this text is that I didn't like any of the female characters. They were cold, cruel, sex mad or prudes - these stereotypes belong in the past. Also, I have no problem with sex in books, but I do have a problem with borderline child molestation, the older man indoctrinating the virgin - and this is done twice in this book. I can believe in a world gone to hell, I do know that men sleep with childr... moreen, but this is creative writing so can we be more creative than falling into cliches.
review 2: Tankbread is a fast-paced roller-coaster of action, emotion and intrigue. Offering both a fresh take on the well-worn tropes of the zombie post-apocalpyse genre , introducing several unique quasi-scientific concepts, Tankbread also builds up to knock the reader down with one well-aimed emotional haymaker after another, all wrapped up in lashings of good old-fashioned gore-soaked bullet-riddled horror action. Whether you're a long-time zombie fan or a newcomer to the genre, this book will be a damned fine addition to your collection. less

This is a zombie apocalypse, not the dystopian stories that I prefer. I really enjoyed it.
