review 1: Interesting story. At times too brutal. Stories of Japanese bio-warfare experiments on humans in WWII. Depictions of torture to elicit information on the whereabouts of a dangerous fungus. In the closing days of WWII, Liam gets a hold of a weaponized fungus with no cure. Fast forward 64 years and someone coming looking for it. The granddaughter character is well developed, the ex-army physics professor is less so, more of a caricature. The duplicitous gov official could be better developed.
review 2: I liked this book for what it was – an almost end of the human race thriller. I am not too much of an action/thriller lover and sometimes I felt the author wrote this novel with the hope of it being picked-up for a movie. The story of how a fungus as oppose
... mored to a virus could get loose and put an end to humanity was intriguing and I really liked the science. I found it a bit predictable but if you like a lot of spies, kidnapping, torture, etc. you may enjoy this story. less

The science of the story was interesting, but I found the plot predictable.

Neat technothriller. Good pacing and lots of pop science.
