review 1: Very realistic description of what it's like to go through infidelity in a marriage. Having lived it--a long time ago--the first half of the book didn't seem very new or interesting to me. But that's my "stuff".Twists and turns about 40% through made it more interesting, and it was hard to put this book down. Without issuing a spoiler alert, I will say that some of the problems conveniently seemed to resolve themselves though.I saved quite a few quotes from this book but one of them almost gave me chills because I personally got this message years ago, "They haven't rejected you, they've rejected Me." Okay, every rejection/divorce experience is unique--and it's not. The hurt is not identical & yet it's universal. And God's healing is for all.Not all grief is from rejection... more. Sometimes loss is unavoidable, like the death of a loved one. There are words of comfort here too. "Was Phil a good and faithful servant of God?" "Of course." "Doesn't he deserve to hear that from God, and receive his reward?" It doesn't make it easier to live with, but it does make it easier to accept the loss.
review 2: Chuck and Bobbi Molinsky have 18 years of marriage under their belts when Bobbi discovers Chuck has had an affair. Their journey to save their marriage begins as they seek counseling. In reading the book, the author presents both sides of the situation from the perspective of Chuck and Bobbi. They both learn things about themselves and their faith in God as Chuck begins to understand his infidelity and Bobbi learns about her own insecurities in the marriage. less
