Little Kendra is a joy and quickly adapts to her new babysitter. But a quick nap could be the end for Amy. Kendra is missing and the front door is unlocked. But soon a car arrives. Inside is baby Kendra and two thugs with a gun. Amy must protect Kendra and soon the two men are forced to kidnap the teenage girl as well. Will the two girls make it out alive? Why have they been kidnapped? These questions swirl around Amy's head. She must find a way home. Amy's wit and quick thinking may help save Kendra. If you like mysteries this is the book for you. The suspense really makes the present day book come to life.
review 2: "Stolen Chil
... moredren," by Peg Kehret, is a very enjoyable novel that I would recommend to anyone. This book is a thriller, suspense, as well as a mystery novel. If you enjoy books where you have no idea what is about to happen next, and you are eager to find out, you will surely like this novel. The protagonist of the story, Amy, is a character and I can relate to. She is a 14 year old babysitter, who has the same emotions I would if I were in her situation. She constantly is thinking of ways to escape from her kidnap, and although not all of them work, she keeps trying. The author wrote this book at a very appropriate pace; I was on my toes on every page wondering what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the concept of the book/ its storyline. Additionally, I also enjoyed the suspense of the book. I never knew what was going to happen next, but when I found out, it all made perfect sense to me. For instance, at the beginning of the story, I was confused as to why two unknown guys would come in and steal two innocent girls. Later on, though, I found out that the men knew that the family had a large sum of money, and they were going to use the girls to blackmail the victim's family. I am giving this book 4 stars. The book was written very clearly, and had an intriguing and unique story. The main character was very relatable, and the other characters were interesting to learn about. I was always wanting to know what was going to happen next, and to me that is a well written book. In conclusion, "Stolen Children," by Peg Kehret, is an enjoyable young adult novel that I recommend to many. less
