I was so excited to read Falling Away. I have loved all of Penelope’s books. She is an awesome writer. I couldn’t wait to read Jaxon’s story. I definitely wasn’t disappointed with it. It was so good. Jaxon is the kind of guy that K.C. should have avoided but she has always felt something between them. K.C. has always followed the rules until this year when a mistake leaves her the talk of her college campus and her carefully arranged life comes crashing down around her. She is back in the small town that she grew up in and her mother is so embarrassed she won’t let her stay at home so she is staying at Tate’s. She has to complete her court ordered community service at her old high school tutoring kids failing English. Jaxon is the worst kind of temptation. Jaxon never forgot K.C. He has always looked out for her. Fate has brought them back to the same place. As their bond grows, he discovers K.C. has got to get out from under her mother’s control. K.C has to deal with her past. It won’t but easy but can they make it through it? Oh man did I love this story. It was awesome and I totally recommend this series. I have fallen in love with the characters throughout this whole series. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!
review 2: Let me compose myself for a moment. Penelope, has some how managed to rip my heart from my chest. Throw it on the ground, pick it back up, and place it back in my chest. She has managed to pull every emotion from within me. I cannot tell you enough how fantastic this book was. It wasn't so much the writing because well, P has always been awesome in the way she writes. It was more so what the words said, the expressions of character that drew me in. I loved Jax before this book, simply because of the darkness that loomed just under the surface. It was a different kind of darkness compared to the other books in the series. Jax is well, there isn't anything that he isn't. If I could sum up the exact words to describe him I would say: controlling, domineering, and aggressive. He made my mouth water in so many different ways, and at times I was overly jealous of K.C. Now aside from all of that, the story really pours from somewhere deep in Penelope. I almost want to ask her, did you experience some of this because to me, the story seems so real and believable that it makes me wonder if some of this comes from personal experiences. K.C. UGH. I won't lie here, I was one of those people that told Penelope straight up, if you give her a book I'm going to be livid. Then she turned around and said she's getting a book, and of course I was pissed. Now wait, before you flip out I will say I regret every single word ever said. I loved K.C. I loved the heart wrenching moments, I loved knowing what her struggle was, and how through it all she was still that strong girl. I loved that P had some how made her problems unknown to the naked eye, and that it took her getting a book to really understand her. If you were pissed about her and Jared read this book. Read it, and weep because I can tell you now this is so much more than you ever though. The dynamics, and the way that everything is written had me holding my breath, had me crying, and even at times screaming. This story needed to be told, and I commend P for listening to her gut. Yet another fabulous 5 Star read. Psss... P if you ever stop writing I will find you. ;) less
