review 1: Oh my goodness!!! Why did I pick up this book sooner?! I've had it for a while... ahhh!! this book is perfect and funny as hell!! I recommend it with all the stars I'm allowed to give!So it starts where Elizabeth is confronted by Nico and Rose (his mum) in the research place where his niece, sweet little Angelica is enrolled for the treatment study.. then anyways, she's scared as hell to see him again but follows his career.. somewhat. anyways, they have contact again and this time he isn't letting her walk away, not like he did when they were seventeen and both lost someone dear to them. Anyways, he admits to her that he's been in love with her since he learned how to eat with a fork... despite his constant bullying and teasing. he's in love with her. she's still hurt abo... moreut that but will move on. So anyways, there's this stalker of his who he dated one time and she's trying to hurt Elizabeth. he is wearing her down so she gives in and admits shes in love with him but with his constant pushing he thinks she's being pressured into being with him so he gives her space. Now this book is full of hilarious shit. and I have to admit it kind of makes me want to have a hot Italian guy for myself.
review 2: I don't normally write comment but I wanted to do it.I really loved this book. I read NSH first (the story of Janie and Quinn) and while I liked it, I could not connect with Janie (I still would like her as my best friend though, she knows a lot). Although, there were some cheesy and implausible parts; I liked a lot of things about this book. I go sappy for great love stories like this: discovery of love, high school love thingies, stalkers and jealous girlfriends, good looking boyfriend that can cook ( Aham, ma boy Alex), stupid doctors (still don't know how Ken got into Med School), bossy but caring girlfriend (who wear pants in the relationship), relaxed charismatic guys(who isn't bothered by independent women but isn't a doormat either), and a bunch of friends who are there for you thick and thin and can you help through boy problem whether alcohol is involved or not. Maybe, it is the infusion of the Italian culture in the story that did for me. Or maybe it is Rose( Alex's Mother). Maybe it is Alex, in his crazy way. Or maybe it is crazy, funny, misunderstood, overwhelming, confusing feeling I get when I imagine being in the world of Alex and Elizabeth. It is like watching a really good "cable" Korean Drama(cable being the key word because only then do they share hot kisses and we are allowed a glimpse into a semblance of panties-creaming love making)! less
