review 1: As a Sociology nerd this book was like crack. I devoured it in a matter of hours. I want all my friends to read it. I want to look these people up on Twitter and ask about them. I'm so curious to know more about them but honestly I feel as if I already do. While I don't live in Oxford Iowa these were my neighbors, these people were my grandparents, my mother and father, my friends, teachers and cousins. I knew these people without ever having met them. Reading this book is one of those wonderful moments in life that stitches the world up a little tighter. ... moreotographer Peter Feldstein took a single photograph of every (or almost every) resident of Oxford, Iowa -- a town of less than 700 people. 20+ years later, he tracked down as many of those people as he could find, photographed them again, and included reflections from the residents -- what they've been up to, what their lives are like, what they think about love and death, what they like to eat, etc. I guess I'm a little bit of a voyeur (hello, reality TV, who isn't any more), so I really liked peeking into these people's lives, seeing how they've physically changed, and hearing their stories. less

This was a really interesting read! A peak back at 1984 and where those same people are today.

Very much enjoyed it. Kind of made me want to move to a small town (but not really).

This was very cool. I loved to see how the people had changed over the 20 year span.
