review 1: I don't think I have given any book a one star before. If I have its a rare event. The bottom line for me is that I was a big fan of Tom Clancy, and I have persisted over recent times in reading the books that carry his brand but are written by other writers. This is a story about special ops guys known as "ghosts" because they fly under the radar and carry out missions that are not officially sanctioned. Fair enough. The problem with Choke is that it lurches from one crisis to another and that's about it. Even the ninety something year old Robert Ludlum's recent release broke new ground and was very readable. Sorry to say this wasn't, although why I finished it I don't know.
review 2: A squad of elite soldiers called Ghosts are sent on a mission to recover a m
... moreissing CIA agent in Colombia. As they get to their target, by fighting enemies of a terrorist group, they find that they saved the wrong person and their target was actually someone that they had saved earlier. They found a lead to a warehouse, where they had got their supplies, in Tobruk, and went there. In the warehouse they tracked a weapons cache to a place named Rupat Island. And at the Island an epic battle takes place as the Ghosts take down the Island and captures the organization's leaders, but get heavily wounded in the process.I picked up this book because I thought it was a sequel to the other Ghost Recon book I read.I finished this book because at the end of every chapter, something happens that makes me want to read more.I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thriller book. less

kinda slow at a number of points. Main character a bit too wimpy at times to be believable
