review 1: The illustrations are beautiful and the words hysterical, this is such a good book. I really do enjoy the sly humor and detailed artwork, but I also love using this book for an icebreaker with my artistic students. The book is fairly long, so last year I read a few of my favorite pages to my older 4th-5th grade students. We discussed the poems and what they taught us about each princess or prince. As a fun icebreaker I then had each student create their own princess or prince and poem that represented them. It took an entire class period and in some cases two, because my students really got into the details.
review 2: I’m not entirely sure where to start. This unique book does not follow a story or really any traditional format. Sure I read it cover to cove
... morer but that was only because I resisted the urge to jump about from page to page. This enchantingly illustrated book is a world and type of it is own. It is interactive and creative. I can imagine a little girl having different favorite princesses at different times and making them characters in her make believe, I sure would have. Filled with fascinating pictures and charts with princess tips and little life lessons this is the kind of book a kid keeps near at hand for flipping through and boy does it beg for flipping. less
