review 1: The audible version of this book is slightly overdramatic, which does not help to dampen some of the dramatic writing style. That aside, I love this book, and look forward to listening again. Anyone interested in brain function and cognition, should listen/read to understand that the neurocentric theories of the brain are missing the key elements that may provide the greatest insight into the role of environment on intelligence and brain health.
review 2: This is a such great book! The title leaves out the main reason to read it: it's all about glial cells, which most of us know next to nothing about. The writing was sometimes a little hokey, but it was full of new information and not boring, as long as you're okay with a certain amount of scientific detail.
... moreI listened to most of it twice, and I definitely feel like I see the brain in a whole new way. less
