review 1: i have been vaguely aware of the christian/religious writing but have left the books mid way every time i started reading one. this one succeeded n making me finish the book though skipping/ skirting around the parts where the characters talk of prayers and show faith in the same. it is not that i do not believe in power of prayers but this book was mich more than that. loved all the characters and the plot's detailing. brillint touching tale of art , love , family and sorrows.
review 2: I enjoyed this book as a whole. It is the first book of a genre "women's christian Fiction" that i have read. I find that a strange genre as i did not think the book was about christianity or the effect it had on Sierra. Christianity is about a way of being in my mind and not
... more necessarily about God, yet all these characters make decisions that are not necessarily christian. Nick looks after his dad through a sense of duty, does not necessarily like him and indeed allows him to be maligned by others. I feel like the author, to great effect, only partly draws the characters; they are fragile constantly redrawn by the action of the others. In some ways to me they are incomplete. less
