review 1: I can't give this 4 stars, although it's leaning in that direction I can't quite do it.Story: Lizzie Medina, despite pressure from her extremely overbearing and controlling family (they're appalling really), decides to leave Detroit and study abroad for her master's degree in London. Her first weekend there, she meets Thomas, an actor who's just on his way to really hitting it big. Their meet-cute is nice, Thomas is adorable and I LOVE him. I loved reading about their dates. I just wanted Lizzie to be more confident in herself and we have to wait until the end of the book to see that happen, which was frustrating. My issues:While I don't need graphic sex scenes, it would be nice to read about the romance leading up to it. So if you're expecting really romantic scenes i... moren this book, forgettaboutit. They're not there. She's also portrayed as relatively naive, in her thinking and speech...and that she's 23 makes this really disturbing, frankly. There's talk between L and her roommate about L's virginity, and that she'll have to tell T, but then it's NEVER discussed again. Um why bring it up when we don't get to find out what happens when she tells him... and how she tells him... and what kind of guy he really is when she does tell him. It's all implied, and I hate that. There's isn't an HEA here exactly, but there are a couple of more books here, so I'm hoping they get a real HEA at some point.
review 2: A romance set in London may have been my inner self crying out to be that girl in the book, meeting her dream guy whilst in London and having a exhilarating romance. I picked this book because I wanted an easy escapism from the toils of everyday London transport by following in the footsteps of a girl like me (Lizzie) who studies English Literature and loves herself a bit of Austen. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the book delivered; it was a light and quick read that I finished in one day on my journey in and out of London. I found myself smiling at cute parts and frowning at tough characters - from the first page, I was sucked in. Luckily, there was no silly, stereotypical 'let's go 50 Shades of Grey' with the whole romance. It was solely focused on the more refreshing aspects of new and exciting love in a city so abundant and alive. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants to escape life for a little bit and perhaps feel nostalgic of past exciting loves. less

Nice and sweet. Nothing to write home about, but not bad either.
