review 1: In the second installment of the Three Girls series, the spotlight is on Jen. Of Jen, Ginny, and Annie, Jen is the most Type A and loves to plan things. Since she's an event planner, it's a good thing. When Jen is asked to assist on the wedding of socialite Kiki Barber, it could mean huge things for her career and she's determined to help throw the wedding of the year. She's also determined to organize Ginny's wedding to Josh. Unfortunately, Jen is working herself into the ground and despite her go-getter nature, things don't go as planned. Will her career dreams be shattered? Will her two best friends have her back or will she lose them too? And what's up with the gorgeous best man sending her mixed messages?I became a huge fan of Schurig after reading Three Girls and a B... moreaby. I love her writing style and her characters were so much fun and so real. I loved Ginny so much and feared that I wouldn't like Part 2 as much. I was wrong. I absolutely loved this book. And call me fickle, but I think I might like Jen even more than Ginny! The romance in this one was cute and although I think the relationship conflict could have been stronger, I devoured this book and highly recommend.
review 2: I read this book as part of Three Girls: the Complete Trilogy. This book has a lighter tone than the first one, but I enjoyed it just as much. Jen, the events planner, lands a job doing a wedding for the daughter (Kiki) of a local millionaire. This is the kind of career-making event Jen has been dreaming about. I thought I would hate Kiki at first, but she quickly grew on me. She was funny and sweet and I enjoyed her rapport with Jen.There is a (minor) romantic triangle with Jen, Jason (her co-worker) and Matt (the groom's brother). But I would say the romance is secondary in the story. The story mostly revolves around Jen juggling her work and planning Ginny and Josh's wedding. There is some major conflict/drama with Ginny's wedding, and I liked the way it was resolved. My only gripe with this book is the "I love yous" that were said near the end of the book. Way too soon! Not enough relationship development for that to happen. Now on to Annie's story. less
