review 1: Similar to the other novels of the author Mr. Ravi Subramanian, this story also features the imaginary bank GB2 in Mumbai. This story is also related to financial crime, which is the basic essence in all the Ravi Subramanian novels. It also covers the protest against the Nuclear Power Plant in Kerala by an old man, arms deal between nations in exchange for diamonds. The story, apart from being a fictional one, it also throws some light about banking industry to the naive reader. Though the initial half of the story seems to be boring with the unrelated events and the series of murders happening in GB2, it is compensated by the next half where the story takes twists and turns. Karan Punjabi who was a ex-banker in GB2 volunteers to find out the reason behind the death of GB2 ... moreemployees which is framed as either accident or suicide . He had to find out the truth within a time span of two days with limited evidences. As he tries to unfold the reason for the deaths, he realizes that it is a related to a global conspiracy which might spoil the reputation of GB2. Was he able to link the murders ? Was he able to identify the master mind in it ? Does he expose to the world about the involvement of GB2 in the global conspiracy? are answered in the later part of the story. Finally this is a promising crime novel with additional flavours of banking and technology.
review 2: After reading this I can only say that Indian writing has come of age. ..just a chance encounter with this title while on a visit to the local library and have finished the book in a matter of hours. . While we have always enjoyed reading foreign authors..reading Indian authors gives you a more familiar feel with the occasional hindi thrown in here and there. ..and locations that we have visited..coming to the plot...it transcends international borders and three stories. .seemingly exclusive of each other. .very intelligently wound in a thrilling unputdownable climax..that is sure to leave you asking for more. .even once you've read the epilogue. ..awesome work. ..eagerly waiting to read other titles by our "banking magician"... less
