review 1: A good read but slightly confusing in the start. The first part initially read more as a sea faring story than the terrorist/thriller it turned into, especially the flipping back an forth between people and places. However it picks up after Panama and the pace and style changed appropriately into a far more paced and action packed thriller. I would give the latter part of the book four stars over the three stars of the early sections.

It is a story full of international intrigue, suspense, many characters and locations, and very believable scenarios. You are drawn in from the... more start and brought along for the ride. You will laugh at times, be gripping the edge of your seat at others, and I bet even need a tissue or two at points. I know I did, especially at the end. This debut novel from R.E. McDermott is a true thriller, and I can't wait for more! Highly, highly recommended! less
