Some of the books of Kids Can Press being published on May 2017. Here follows my comments, in alphabetical order.
- Different? Same! by Heather Tekavec
- The Thing Lou Couldn’t Do by Ashley Spires
- Wade’s Wiggly Antlers by Louise Bradford
Animals can be very different, but they can have something in common.
Each page shows five or six animals (mammals, fishes, carnivorous, herbivorous, …) and what they have in common.
It’s a nice illustrated book that provides a general idea about animals, showing distinctions and common features between animals.

The Thing Lou Couldn’t Do by Ashley SpiresLou and her friends love having fun, they invent stories, play in the garden and they all love adventures.
One day everyone climb a tree except Lou, and she is aware she isn’t able to do this! To avoid trying Lou invents every kind of excuses, but she is lucky because her friends give her courage.
The story is very nice, it teaches to overcome fears: it’s not important to succeed instantly, but it’s important to keep trying and not give up.

Wade is a little moose who use his antlers for everything, but one day he notices they are loose.
He’s mother reassures him: the antlers are going to come out and regrow bigger in summer.
And it happens! Wade has no more his antlers, but this does not prevent him to play with his animal friends.
The story in Wade’s Wiggly Antlers is nice and teaches something new about the animal world.
