Hello there, it’s me again..!
Been a long time, I know. I’ve been busy finishing my final project to graduate, it’s finished now and I am unofficially graduated and currently contemplating whether or not I should continue my study to get my master degree or get a job (classic).
Okay, enough about me. So, today I’m going to give you the review of Anne Gracie’s third book from the Perfect series (some of you called it as the Merridew sister series).
So, this third book is about the second twin’s story, Faith Merridew, and his black knight Nicholas Blacklock. If I said that I don’t really like the second story about Hope Merridew, then this other twin’s story got me hooked and totally in love.
Faith’s character might be not as straightforward as Prudence but I can say that She is far braver than Prudence. I mean Faith is the only one that goes on a journey to France following the one she thought was her true love and ends up being betrayed and found out that the one she thought was her true love actually had already had a wife (what an asshole, hate that kind of man).
Nick Blacklock was a Waterloo veteran. I like his character, he is an alpha male, always trying to keep Faith at arm’s length to protect her from a heartbroken. Just like any other Anne Gracie’s male character, he was full of wit and mystery. But, I can say that Nicholas Blacklock was my second favorite after Gideon Carradice, in the previous review I have already said that I’m not impressed with Sebastian Reyne, so…
I like how Anne Gracie able to make the first meeting of Faith and her black knight, Nick, different from her other sisters. Their meeting was unpredictable and so their overall journey. Out of three books I’ve read, this perfect stranger was the most dramatic and heartbreaking story. Every time I turn the pages I cry harder. Aside from the super unpredictable plot that makes you feel that you can’t get enough, a little bit of threat and gunshot and supernatural power here and there was also making this third book of the Perfect series even more perfect to read.
I have already said that Anne Gracie has her way to make her reader falling in love with her work of art, but I’ll emphasize it here that Anne Gracie was a genius in this book. You can read the book on a rainy afternoon to set the mood, with a cup of tea and some biscuits.
