review 1: Dude really knows what's he's doing; I'm impressed by both of his books and he deserves to be mentioned in the same list as Chabon, Eggers, Safran-Foer and that lot (he may even rise above them and reach heights such as Murakami and Mitchell!). His touch with characters is subtle and authentic. He is deft at creating various ages, emotions, and experiences. His characters inhale and exhale as one turns the page. I was completely Besotted with this read.
