Never have I read a piece of fiction that has me questioning whether this is actually not a true life account of a real asassination attempt on the President of the United States! It is scarily relevant to what is happening in the world right now!
I had seen this book in Waterstones after it was initially released and didn’t pick it up. It was then hearing the author; Sam Bourne (pseudonym of columnist Jonathan Freedland) give an interview on BBC Radio 2 about his book that I then knew I HAD to read this book.
I’m certainly no authority on the different roles and persons within the White House, so I cannot comment on whether this novel is factually correct – but the way that Sam has written this novel, I ate up every word! I 100% believe that there have been conversations like the ones feautred in this novel that have happened already. That’s what makes this book give me jeebies, but in the BEST way!
TO KILL THE PRESIDENT is the most relevant political thriller you will read this year and my word, you are in for a rollercoaster of a ride!
