The Ransome Trilogy
review 1: It was hard to choose between one or two stars. That a young woman could pass herself off as a teenage boy within the close quarters of a ship for more than a month seemed too unbelievable. Approximately 75 percent of the story takes place during an ocean voyage so there are many references to naval terms and details of ship duties that I didn't always understand. The romance between William and Julia that sparked in "Ransome's Honor" fizzled out in this sequel.
review 2: I liked Ransome's Crossing even better than Ransome's Honor and I LOVED Ransome's Honor. I loved Charlotte's character. I also enjoyed reading more about the newlyweds, William and Julia. ... more this story didn't have newlyweds in bliss 100% of the time. But it showed that they struggled to reconcile their former, independent lives with another person. I can't wait for the third installment. less

Good, ridiculous fun. While the plot is rather melodramatic and unlikely,it still captivates.
