I’ve decided to do my bit for the wildlife carers’ fundraising this year. I’m abstaining from helping with their Christmas wrapping service at the shopping centre. My unavailability will generate more income for them. If they had any sense the booth would have a sign advertising my non-appearance. It would generate some additional gold coin donations from those still in shock from the results of my well-intended efforts last year. Inevitably, my effort at anything related to arts and craft is kindly referred to a having a “naïve style”.
If you remember, last year my lack of dexterity meant that I dispatched a few customers with crumpled packages and offering the suggestion that they tell the intended receiver that “the parcel was trampled by Santa’s reindeer when it fell out of the sleigh.” One gentleman glared at me indicating that he was seriously unhappy. So was I for that matter. I still had another 1 ½ hours before my shift was completed.
