Batwoman Vol. II
review 1: I was a bit surprised with Batwoman. I thought the new 52 Batgirl comics were alright but I had lower expectations for Batwoman. Except for a few parts the art in Batwoman was really good and I think I liked it a bit more than Batgirl. However it was really annoying that I'd heard that the new 52 comics were a reboot so that people who hadn't read the comics before could easily pick it up. I was expecting origin stories for both Batgirl and Batwomen but really they just keep all the back history for the characters and just throw you into a situation with perhaps a little more exposition than normal. I still liked Batwoman enough to want to read the next graphic novel but I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed.
review 2: Haven't had an honest to goodness superhe
... morero book on my shelf in years, but this one is a welcome addition. Williams's art, especially the creative layouts, is a wonder. It's a good story, to boot. Fair warning: though this says volume 1, you'll really want to have read Batwoman: Elegy first, and even then there will be a fair amount of recent Gotham backstory you are just assumed to know (most of which I didn't). less
