review 1: Jim Butcher's latest book continues to prove that the author receives great pleasure by torturing his readers. This book opens up many new paths for our stubborn detective. We meet some new characters that have only been talked about before. Some of the old reliable characters re-appear and it is magic witnessing the interaction between the characters. It is going to be a long wait for the next book.
review 2: Fast paced, fun cast of characters built up over many books. Locations, characters and events put in place in other books come the fore. Hints at new dangers coming over the horizon for other books yet to be written but still a self-contained story with the immediate plot threads handled by the last page. Not Shakespeare or War and Peace but well cons... moretructed, entertaining and satisfying as a story. less
