A Candace Cameron Christmas

May your days be merry and Bure!

Moonlight & Mistletoe (2008)

In this one Candace Cameron Bure HATES Christmas. Why? Because her father played by  Tom Arnold (YES, THE Tom Arnold) is an obsessive Santa Claus impersonator (YES, THE Tom Arnold is SANTA CLAUS IMPERSONATOR) and forced his young daughter to pretend like she’s Santa’s elf. There are multiple times in the movie where Tom Arnold gets upset when she calls herself his “daughter”. He tells her she must refer to herself as “Santa’s helper”. It’s insane in the most Hallmark way possible but the Christmas spirit fixes everything for the dysfunctional family.

Let It Snow (2013)

CCB is a real estate developer who is building a ski resort near a cute little Christmas town. For some reason, she has to spend time in the town where she decides that Christmas is way more important than profit. I don’t agree. I love Christmas but money is always better.

Christmas Under Wraps (2014)

CCB is a vet who’s sent to a town in Alaska, where she meets Santa (only she doesn’t realize he’s Santa) and assists him in taking care of his reindeer (only she doesn’t realize it’s a reindeer). Then she falls in love with Santa’s son. So I guess she’s like a chic, cool future Mrs. Claus? I think she may have hated Christmas in this one too.

A Christmas Detour (2015)

Hands-down the most boring CCB Hallmark Christmas movie. While on her way to meet her future in-laws on Christmas, her flight makes an emergency landing so she decides to hop in a car with strangers to drive there. Along the way, she realizes her fiance kind of sucks and that one of the strangers is kind of cute. So love blossoms. This is the first time we see CCB’s love of vision boards!

Journey Back to Christmas (2016)

SHE TIME TRAVELS.

Switched for Christmas (2017)

TWINS. SHE PLAYS TWINS. They switch places when one twin says to the other twin, “you couldn’t live like me”, the other twin replies ,”yes I could,” to which the other twin says, “prove it”. That’s all it takes.

Honorable mention: Dead Over Heels: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery (2017)

While not a Christmas movie, it may be some of Candace’s best work. She plays a librarian who loves murder. Someone drops a dead body out of a plane to land in her backyard to challenge her murder-loving skills. Spoiler alert: she figures it out but I can’t remember how the mystery was solved because I was so focused on the fact that someone orchestrated a dead body drop out a plane.
