A Court of Wings and Ruin

By: Sarah J. Maas
Category: YA-Fiction, Fantasy

Rating: ★★★★★

Difficulty: ★★★☆☆

A nightmare, I’d told Tamlin. I was the nightmare.

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit—and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well. As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords—and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

Review

This book was filled with revenge, love, determination and shear willpower. Feyre has quickly become one of my favorite heroines. She is kick-ass rolled into sarcastic and doesn’t give one F*#K.

I absolutely loved the sections of this book.

  • Section one: revenge – Man, does Feyre do a phenomenal job of this!
  • Section two: Scheme – a little slower then the other sections, but still riveting.
  • Section three: survive – My heart was broken then remade in this section.

Probably the only thing that I didn’t care for was the ending of this book. There really wasn’t anything to suck me into the next novel. Is their story over? Will the next novel be about a different character within this world? There were defiantly unanswered questions and promises, but nothing like how Maas left us wanting in the second book.

I know I will read this book again and again as I have the other two. It has become like my 21st century Harry Potter fixation. Each time a new book comes out in this series, I find myself revisiting all of its predecessors.
