review 1: This book was magnificent. For me it took a while to figure out the mystery that revolved around the whole book. The characters' developments were good and the back stories too. The book did start off slow but as it progressed, it got my attention. I didn't expect some of the turns and it caught me off guard but overall, the book was great. The ending made me tear up a little and this book showed me that sometimes, true family could not be related by blood.
review 2: Oh, this southern reader couldn't help but be charmed when Mo refers to an older boy as "NASCAR handsome." It's the quirky southern murder mystery at its finest - complete with deviled eggs, women who wear wigs, sweet tea and an abusive father. Don't worry about Mo and Dale (named after THE Dale ... moreEarnhardt) though, they can pluck their way around the grownups and hold their own just fine. The plot is complex enough to keep readers guessing and the town, and it's folks, make for laugh out loud moments. Loved it. less
