Fatigue comes in many different forms.
-Not getting enough sleep can leave you tired.
-Being stressed can leave you tired.
-I think that not eating well or exercising can also leave you tired.
But there’s another kind of tired that I want to tell you about. And you definitely don’t need it dragging down your soul.
In 2 Corinthians 1:12 (NLT), Paul writes this: “We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God-given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings.”
Wouldn’t it be great if you and I could look back on each day and say the same thing? That with confidence and a clear conscience we lived with a God-given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings?
One of the outcomes of living like that would be less fatigue. Why? Because it’s tiring to live your life in a way that contradicts what you know is right. It’s like trying to swim upstream.
Kyle Idleman says it like this: “It’s exhausting trying to live in a way that violates your heart.”
Are you fatigued? Maybe you just need more sleep. Maybe you’re stressed. Maybe you’re eating too much junk food and are stagnant most of the time.
But maybe you just need to look at your day-to-day life, and make some changes so that the way you live more closely reflects your beliefs—so that you end more of your days with a clear conscience, and a confidence that you’ve done your best to be godly and sincere in your dealings.
As Idleman reminds us, “It’s exhausting trying to live in a way that violates your heart.”
