I didn’t do any major grocery shopping last week at all. We had a ton leftover from the week before for various reasons. My husband did make a quick run and picked up the lip balm (reviewed here), peanut butter, chips and crisped rice cereal for me to make Homemade Peanut Butter Boppers but that was it. We’re nearing the end of the groceries so I think I will have to venture out tomorrow.
Produce-wise, I think the best bets are the 59¢ mangos, $1.79/pint blueberries (a good deal despite being months out of season), 99¢/lb green beans and the $2.99/2 lb kiwi (this is normally about 10 kiwi minimum and they go for at least 50¢/each at the regular grocery store).
Meat: 96% lean ground beef for $4.99 (pretty good deal, this is closer to $7/lb at the regular grocery), $1.69/lb pork butt roast (great for making pulled pork), breaded, Parmesan fresh chicken cutlets for $4.49 and 69¢/lb family pack hone-in, skin on chicken thighs, $5.49/lb Black Angus sirloin steaks. Spotlight on their “Never Any” line of poultry too (vegetarian diet, no hormones or antibiotics) $1.49/lb whole chicken, $2.99 chicken sausages.
No seafood specials that I see this week.
Non-food items: For adults: $14.99 laminator (this would have been awesome when I was a public school teacher) and the Easy Home IO-Drawer Rolling Storage Cart for $19.99, $6.99 desk organizers. For children/baby care: $14.99 Fisher-Price nightlight/noise machine, Dreambaby Royale Converta 3-in-1 Play Yard $59.99 which appears to be a modern name for a movable playpen, Fisher-Price Rock N’ Play Sleeper $44.99, Fisher-Price Corn Popper push toy $8.99.
