Genre: New Adult, Romance, Contemporary

Love is a circus “Every day,” he says lowly, “I hold a person’s life in my hands. The circus is based one-hundred percent off trust. I give it all to someone, and they give it all to me.” The best aerial technique won’t land 21-year-old Thora James her dream role in Amour—a sexy new acrobatic show on the Vegas strip. Thora knows she’s out of her element the second she meets Amour’s leading performer. Confident, charming and devilishly captivating, 26-year-old Nikolai Kotova lives up to his nickname as the “God of Russia.”
When Thora unknowingly walks into the crosshairs of Nikolai’s after-show, her audition process begins way too soon. Unprofessional. That’s what Nik calls their “non-existent” relationship. It’s not like Thora can avoid him. For one, they may be partners in the future—acrobatic partners, that is. But getting closer to Nik means diving deeper into sin city and into his dizzying world. Thora wants to perform with him, but when someone like Nikolai attracts the spotlight wherever he goes—Thora fears that she’s destined to be just background to his spellbinding show.

Amour Amour was such a treasure of a story. Nikolai and Thora were so precious and their love story came together so beautifully. Every scene with them was a breath of fresh air because from the beginning they just clicked but it also wasn’t instant love. I loved how they came together in the wild world of Las Vegas. I loved the act that they were a part of and how the authors described it because I felt like I was watching it in real time. I am craving to see a show now especially the aerial silks and I can imagine my excitement when I finally get to see it. Can we talk about the GORGEOUS cover for a moment as well? I would love to one day make a cover for them.

“The circus and you, he whispers, amour amour.”

The overall plot was exciting and easy to get through. As I have stated before I don’t find contemporary all that exciting, but when it’s a life that isn’t my own or one that I can’t see me in it becomes magical. The writing style was much better and I can see their strengths with how they write certain characters and their weakness when it comes to others. This was a story that has me turning page after page and needing more. The love making scenes weren’t trashy, over the top, or just thrown in for the hell of it. They were thought out and placed at the right times. I would recommend this story a bunch of times over.

“I shake my head. It’s the opposite, I tell him. My life is just beginning.”

1) Thora

I related to Thora so much it was crazy. It wasn’t the way she turns to mush over Nik lol it was more the way she is her own cheerleader. That is 10000000000% me, I always boost myself because if someone isn’t there you need to be able to do it for yourself. I adore how she was written. It was so refreshing to see a female lead believe in herself and need no validation from anyone. Thora ventured on her own into a Vegas lifestyle with no notion that she would actually join the circus but she did it anyway no fear no second thoughts. Even when she met Nik she was such a strong woman and stood her ground and was so determined that she could be a part of Amour Amour.

“I nod. Yeah, I know. But if I don’t believe in myself, then who will?”

2) Nikolai

Although I loved the plot as you can see with this story the characters and how they were written were what really made me love it. I just really can’t get over how he took care of Thora from the moment he met her. The scene where they first met was EEK!!! I can’t believe he did that to Thora lol it was pretty hot and hilarious for a first meet. The twins really went all out when it came to writing his character. His love and selfless nature towards his siblings was so wonderful to see in a male lead. He wasn’t all brooding, he had heart and courage.

“Every day, he says lowly, I hold a person’s life in my hands. The circus is based one-hundred percent off trust. I give it all to someone, and they give it all to me. I’m asking you, right now, to trust me.”

3) Jimofei

Surprise surprise my favorite couple is here. I don’t think I need to go into detail about them since I explained it in my Infini post. I do want to add that I was so excited to see the start up of them even if it was through Thora’s POV. Crosses fingers for a Jimofei novel.

It wasn’t so much as I disliked anything about the story actually more so that it just didn’t have that extra excitement that I get for my five-star favorites. The four stars are because of that reason only and because I would’ve liked to read Nikolai’s POV like we got to read Luka’s.

Amour Amour was 100% even better than Infini but only because I couldn’t get enough of Nik and Thora. I honestly can’t wait to see them expand this world because I believe some of the other Katova’s have incredible stories to share with the world.
