Hey everyone! This is a little later than intended (sorry MaryAnn!), but I have the privilege to be part of the Never Apart blog tour with this review! Hurray! Here we go! This book knocked me on my ass, which is probably part of why it took me a while to write this review. So there will likely be a bunch of feelings in this review, and I’m not sorry about it. Grace is living the same five days over and over again. She continuously ends up in an alternate reality as herself, but not herself, and in each one, two things happen – she watches her boyfriend, Ander, die, and she watches her friend, Finn, kill him. And then she Falls into another new reality, and she finds Ander, and then Finn finds them both, and the cycle continues on. In her 42nd fall, Grace realizes that something is different. She’s herself, but she’s not. And Ander doesn’t remember her. And Finn… he doesn’t want to do this anymore either. She wants it to stop, and she realizes she’s the only one who can stop it.
But is she brave enough to face the truth?
Welp. Everyone is white. I’m starting to notice this more and more. I’m sick of pale skin and pale eyes and pale hair. I want some color in these small town worlds. And don’t try to tell me it doesn’t exist (nod to the stupidest Tweet I’ve read all week – you can read my response thread here), because I’m from a small town and I know it does. So yeah, I’m sick of all the white, straight people. I want more.
Also, I really hated the ending to this book, but I’d spoil everything if I said why, so that’s all you get.

- Red = DNF, I hated everything

- Yellow = I mean, I’ve read worse, but there were problems
- Green = This was good!
- Blue = Oh my gosh, I loved this book!
- Purple = This is the unicorn of books and I will be rereading it until the binding falls apart and EVERYONE should be reading it!
I couldn’t stop reading this book, but the longer I sit on it, the more I realize I didn’t actually like it all that much? The ending really soured it for me. I really REALLY hated the ending. So I’m going to give Never Apart a YELLOWISH-GREEN rating, because I think there could have been more done with the book and I loved Jem, damn it, was that really necessary?
