synopsis
SWAT Officer and wolf shifter Max Lowry falls hard and fast for Lana Mason, the daughter of the deputy chief of police. He’s convinced she’s The One from the moment they meet. To make everything even more perfect, she’s a werewolf, too, so no awkward big reveal. They can go straight to the happily-ever-after part.
There’s just one problem. The event that turned Lana into a werewolf was so horrible that she repressed her inner wolf along with the memories of what happened, so she doesn’t know what she is. Even worse, hunters have tracked her to Dallas and bring with them a weapon that can kill wolf shifters.
It’s up to Max to keep them safe and show Lana who she really is… and how much she’s come to mean to him.
♦ Personal Thought ♦
This series certainly picks up and presents more actions and problems for the SWAT pack to face BESIDES finding their true love. That the defining entry push Max Lowry, the youngest pack member, into the limelight is rather astonishing to me. Yet I can’t help but rooting for Max from the start with the tragedy that propel him into werewolf-hood (is that even a word??). The effect of which stays on with him that, as exasperated as I am when he reacted rashly, I totally get where he came from.
Wolf Hunger is fast-paced and action-packed with dashes of twist and surprises. There’s bigger issue here on top of Max and Lana dance around each other. In fact, with the way events unfolding, the romance portion of their story almost – ALMOST – felt like an aside. (But worry not for those of you fancying hawt moments between the two, there are more than enough here to make you flush! *grin*)
This book certainly brings the series to a more exciting yet unknown path. Trouble (or likely, MORE TROUBLES) is brewing on the horizon. The SWAT pack need to stay alert to anything around the clock, because anything can happen. I’m not saying that this book has cliff-hanger ending. But the way events unfolding, the possibilities now seem endless. I get a feeling – which I really hope to be proven wrong – that things be bad before getting better soon. Fingers-crossed there’d be no casualty waiting in the corner for this pack of werewolf!
