Review:I’ve come to terms with the fact that Cary Phillips is a hit or miss author for me, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book in this series Dare To Love, but I really enjoyed the second and third book in the series Dare to Desire & Dare To Touch but this book was a miss for me.
The issues that I have with this book are some of the ones I had with the first, the main female character Meg got on my nerves, and this persisted throughout the book. She’s someone that because of her past she has trust issues and she refused to accept anyone’s help because she believes that she wouldn’t be independent. I feel like there was hope for her in the beginning but for most of the book, I feel like she was waiting for Scott to leave her and the baby because she thinks that all men she chooses are bad. Scott was a character that I really did enjoy, he was sweet and would do anything he could to keep Meg safe. Scott never gave Meg a real reason to doubt him, sure he made a small mistake when he was telling her about his past, but instead of talking about her concerns she pulled back and waited for Scott to leave.
Scott was the highlight of this book for me, he was a character that we never really got introduced to, I feel like that’s something this series fails at, there are so many of the Dare siblings that are never introduced, and when it comes to the other side of the family, the only one we interact with was Alex. I was hoping that later books would go into them more, but I already know that they don’t. Regardless of this book being a let down for me, I’m a sucker for rockstar romance books so I’m excited to continue and hope that I’m not let down.
