review 1: This is a wonderful book by the author of "The Art of Racing in the Rain" (also a wonderful book). While the story is entirely different, there are some similarities: the narrator is someone whose ability to make his own choices is limited, for example. There are folks with ulterior motives in both books. That said, "A Sudden Light" stands beautifully on its own.
