Book review: Fairy Tale Pets, by Tracey Corderoy, illustrated by Jorge Martin

Corderoy, Tracey. Fairy Tale Pets. Illustrated by Jorge Martin. Little Tiger Press, 2017. $16.99. ISBN 978-1-68010-064-8. 25 pgs. Ages 4-8. P7/Q6

A fun twist in the fairy tale world, Fairy Tale Pets tells the story of a young boy and his dog who decide to make some extra money by taking care of pets. Between a little girl named Goldilocks dropping off her (slightly whiny) baby bear and a boy named Jack bringing by his pet goose who has an annoying habit of laying very heavy eggs each time she is startled the plan starts to go wrong quickly.

Verdict: This is an enjoyable picture book for a reader who likes fairy tales. I chose a popularity of 7 because of the genre and the humor in the book. The quality I felt was a 6 due to the pictures being fairly simple. I also felt it ended rather abruptly.
