Chris Robinson’s As The Crow Flies announce innaugural tour, stopping in Lexington on April 25

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 9, 2018) –– Chris Robinson has songs he wants to sing. As frontman for The Black Crowes—one of the most prolific and celebrated rock ’n’ roll bands of its generation—he co-wrote classics like “Jealous Again,” “Remedy,” “She Talks To Angels,” “Twice As Hard” and “Sometimes Salvation.” With a desire to breathe new life into this storied repertoire, Robinson has gathered five musicians whose musical journeys intertwine with The Black Crowes legacy, including guitarists Marcus King and Audley Freed, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, bassist Andy Hess and drummer Tony Leone. Appropriately calling the band, As The Crow Flies, Robinson and company will perform shows consisting of music from The Black Crowes at a handful of select dates in Spring 2018 between tours with his primary outfit, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood.

Per Jambase, the inaugural ATCF tour will begin on April 17 at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, Ny. The newly formed group will then head to Philadelphia before appearing at their previously confirmed slot at the Wanee Music Festival in Florida. From there the tour heads to Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Missouri, Colorado, Nevada and California with a final night coming on May 13 at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Or.

Robinson discussed the formation of the band with Rolling Stone. He says these shows will be it for As The Crow Flies, at least for a few years, as he’ll be busy with The CRB. “I guess, so if we have a great time, we could do it again in a couple of years. But CRB are completely booked. After May, we go back out and do our thing. We’re making a new record this year, so we’re in the process of putting all the tunes together. So like I said, the time was right, the people are people I love and want to play with, so we struck while the iron was hot,” Robinson told Andy Greene.

Tickets for the April 25 As The Crow Flies show at Manchester Music Hall go on sale Friday, Jan. 12 starting at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at Ticketfly.com or by phone at 877-435-9849.
