Current WWE Tag Teams That Need To Split

On this week’s Smackdown, Mojo Rawley turned on Zack Ryder meaning the Hype Bros are no more. Which other tag teams could do with a solo run to benefit their own career?

THE HARDY BOYZ

With Jeff out of action indefinitely, it seems as though this is the perfect time for Matt to go solo.

We were teased with this on RAW, where Hardy was frustrated after a loss against Bray Wyatt and began deleting in the turnbuckle.

This has been long overdue for the WWE Universe, who haven’t seen Broken Matt since his last show for Ring Of Honor.

A singles run against Wyatt would make a brilliant feud, as Wyatt is currently stuck in the midcard with no real momentum.

When Jeff eventually returns, it would make sense for him to go his seperate way for a while before rejoining his brother and becoming Brother Nero once again.

HEATH SLATER AND RHYNO

This team features mainly on Main Event, which is recorded before RAW.

Heath Slater and Rhyno won the inaugural Smackdown Tag Team Championships at Backlash 2016

This time last year, Heath and Rhyno had won the first Smackdown Tag Team Championships and Heath was extremely over with the crowd.

However, since then, their momentum has dwindled out and they are now extremely underutilised by RAW.

Rhyno also runs a career in Politics on the side of his wrestling, so it would be fairer if Heath could get out of his team and begin a new singles run.

His comedy could make a fun lower card feud with one of the many talents on the roster at the moment.

CHAD GABLE AND SHELTON BENJAMIN

Since Benjamin’s return, Gable has been playing the role of a tweener as Benjamin returned as a heel.

Benjamin and Gable have been a team for only a couple of months

But sadly, the two cannot really connect and despite some good matches, it seems as though Benjamin would be better as a singles star.

He still has plenty to offer in the midcard, especially when you remember how well recieved his return was.

Originally scheduled for September 2016, the return for Benjamin was delayed due to injury.

Gable could also get a good baby face run, even a feud with his team mate Benjamin would produce some good matches.

Their momentum as a team seems to have died out after a loss on Smackdown to the New Day.

FANDANGO AND TYLER BREEZE

A controversial one I know, but hang with me on this.

These two are one of the best parts of Smackdown at the moment and can both carry out decent matches in the ring.

Splitting them up soon would make the shock astronomical and get the most emotion out of the WWE Universe.

Both have shown they can work as heel or face, so either of them turning on the other would make a good heel/face matchup.

I’d personally turn Fandango heel because Breeze as a face would mean he could go over without too much fuss and gain some extra momentum.
