The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal
review 1: Rereading TJ and Amal for what must be the third or fourth time and it only gets better. This time, it's all the more beautiful to me because I am reading it from my very own paperback editions. I started reading the webcomic when it was ongoing in March 2011 and followed it all through university and right up until its conclusion when I was on a very hardcore assignment a couple of hundred miles from home for my grown-up professional job. The journey I've taken with TJ and Amal has been incredible and certainly more than epic in my eyes, for all that it's wonderfully understated and small in its way. I can think of few narratives which mean more to me.
review 2: A charming opening to a series I've heard a lot of good things about. This first trade is a solid i
... morentroduction to the characters, what they're doing, and even drops a few hints about what's under the top layer of both of them. TJ and Amal are both interesting--Amal for what we know; TJ for what we don't--and charming. You can understand why they get along, and I'm very interested to see where the story goes next. Yeah, it's online, and I could just go catch up, but I think I'll grab the other trades instead. less
