Emboss it! … to lift your spirits

A dear friend of mine is currently going through a tough time so I decided to make her a card to lift her spirits.  Who doesn’t like receiving a handmade card in the post, right?

I decided to play along with the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week which is Challenge 131 Emboss It! For this challenge you could use heat embossing, an embossing folder or embossing paste.  I decided to use the new Shimmery White Embossing Paste from the new Occasions Catalogue, which is now live.

Here is what I came up with …

Glossy cardstock was used for the background and I brayered Soft Sky and Wild Wasbi inks to create the land & sky and then I used the Pattern Party Decorative Masks with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste to create the clouds.

The sentiment comes from the Lift Me Up stamp set.  The hot air balloon was made by first dragging Powder Pink & Flirty Flamingo inks over glossy cardstock and then cutting the balloon out using the Up & Away Thinlits.  The hearts were cut out using a die in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and attached to the balloon using silver thread and sticking 2 hearts back to back with the thread in between.

What do you think of the different pinks on the balloon?  I think it adds a little extra rather than just being one solid colour.

There is still time to join in the Stamp Ink Paper challenge, so why not give it a go.  Which embossing method will you use?  Click on the image below to go to the challenge website.

Just a reminder that the new Occasions catalogue is now live.  Contact me today to place an order or to book in a party to take full advantage of the great freebies during Sale-A-Bration.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
