review 1: 4.5 stars! Mr. Tiger gets tired of Victorian style living and decides to go wild, literally. Even though the storyline is a bit predictable, the illustrations raise the quality of the narrative, from the placement of the illustrations on the page, to the colors used, even to the endpapers. I've been making sure to always look at picture book back covers, now I am also making a point to look under the dust jacket - there's a surprise on this one! Love it!
review 2: One day Mr. Tiger becomes fed up with being so proper and decides to get crazy. He takes off his clothes and runs around town on all fours. Scandalous! At first all the other animals are taken aback, but eventually when they see how much fun he's having, they follow suit and end up in their birthd... moreay suits. I was not even remotely entertained by this book, nor was I impressed with the illustrations. It's hard to believe this book won so many awards. I understood that it was trying to convey the beauty of being yourself, but it was so bland, I wonder if children will be able to see the point. less
