Friday Favorites-Bringing Summer to Fall

Physically I am ready for Fall (it is so dang hot here and hello, pumpkin errthang) but mentally I am NOT. Traditionally I opt for warmer tones during Fall/Winter and all Spring into Summer it is bright colors and fun prints, but this year I see myself carrying over some fun colors for Fall.

My love for color isn’t the only thing I’ll be taking into Fall with me. Below are a few favs from this Summer that I can make work in Fall as well.

The infamous bow slide by Sam & Libby.

$24.99 at Target.com, I own the taupe and the black and they feel DIVINE on my feet. Realistically our “Fall” is just 90 degree weather in October so these make all kinds of sense to keep around!

Fun Earrings

The gals behind WhoaWaitWalmart have given me a new found love and respect for Walmart. Had it not been for them I would have not found all my favorite knock offs at a price that makes me want to do cartwheels! There are some fun Fall colors in here too but my favorite are the bright rainbow colors and you will see me rocking those well into Fall! THANK YOU BETHANY AND AMANDA!

PS. I tried to find these online but I think for right now they are only in stores? Check your nearest Walmart!

Summer State of Mind

When you really think about it, why does everyone DREAD the end of Summer? Sure, back to school, sports, etc. But typically as parents WE don’t have to go back to school and we still don’t want the Summer to end. I believe it is our way of thinking and our pace for Summer that we dread losing.

Summer is slow and chill, it seems like in Summer there is no schedule but as soon as school hits, your day is mapped out from sun up to sun down! What if we decided not to think that way and let that ruin our fun? I know we all have responsibilities, but what if in some area of your day you kept that Summer state of mind without a plan or care in the world.

Personally I am going to try to take that way of thinking with me into Fall. Below I have listed a few ways to work a lil Summer into your Fall at least to get you over the Back to School blues.

  • Eat outside – depending on where you live of course.
  • Make Popsicles – an inside activity, who said you cant do this year round!
  • Simple Dinners – I am all about the easy dinner during the Summer. But I am also a Mom so I tend to try to step it up once school begins. At least once a week- plan something so simple even the kids could do it-but don’t make them. We are still thinking Summer here!
  • Sunless tanner – a sunkissed glow instantly takes you have to Summer! Check our my favorite gradual tanner here.
  • In door beach party – drag out the towels, put on your swimsuit and just hang!
  • How are ya’ll spending the remainder of your Summer and what are your ideas to make it last just a little bit longer?

    Keep mixing it up,

    Amanda
