review 1: Mallory is trying to climb the corporate latter in DC, when she meets the man of her dreams, Devon. The problem is Mallory is rich and Devon is not and he also has a 3 year old boy. When he gets offered a job in Texas, Mallory leaves everything behind to be a stay at home mom in a very little run down community. Can Mallory live this type of life or will she go back to DC? Also, is there more to this small island than there seems to be? I did not like the ending.
review 2: Simply put, I loved Lisa Wingate's latest release. The beginning hooked me right away with Mallory's hurried marriage and sudden move across the country. That piece of the story has a fun "mail-order bride" feel. But even more than that, I so appreciated the voice in Lisa's writing...it
... more was lilting and reflecting and heart-tugging. Mallory was so honest--painfully so, at times. I liked the "Pioneer Woman" touch, too. The storyworld was also fabulous. Definitely felt like I was in Texas. :) less
