HOLT, Fla., Sept. 8, 2017–The Holt Water Works Inc. annual meeting is scheduled for Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the utility office.
The public is invited to attend.
Agenda for this meeting includes selecting two members of the board of directors.
In addition to elections, there will be door prizes. Two $25 gift certificates will be raffled, one for Susan’s Restaurant and one for Sherry’s Restaurant, as well as a $25 water credit certificate.
Board of DirectorsHolt Water Works has a seven-person board of directors who each serve three-year terms. Board seats are rotated so not all director seats are vacated at the same time.
Board members are elected at the utility’s annual meeting. This meeting, two seats will be open as board members’ terms of office end.
Board members are elected by a vote of those attending the annual meeting.
Nominations for board members can be taken from the floor by someone attending the meeting or by a sitting member of the board. If more than one person is nominated for a single seat, a vote by those attending determines who serves.
Those board members who have completed their three-year term can be reelected and serve another three-year term if nominated by a board member or someone in attendance.
There are no term limits to serving as a member of the board of directors.
