We live in an “I Want” society where appearances are commonly considered the most significant value.
While appearances can have meaning (See: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2811283/ for one example) they are disproportionately relied upon to the extent that all other factors are considered minimal or even completely irrelevant.
I’m tired of people stating that they want a breed of dog just based on looks. Not considering the energy level of working breeds, the health risks associated with a breed, and/or assuming a certain breed is all around “good,” etc. are all completely irresponsible and ridiculous.
Adopt a dog based on personality after you’ve done general research instead of lusting after “popular & pretty.”
